Title : Investment strategies for health care providers

A career in medicine is a blessing in many ways. It allows the practitioner to perform a service to mankind and society that has been in existence for 5000 years.  It is also a job that can reward the physician handsomely financially. This presentation will discuss some basic concepts for all health care providers, regardless of specialty, age, or where they are in the progress of their careers. I will not speak about how to pick stocks, or which investments are right now. Rather, it will be a discussion of how to understand some of the basic strategies of investing. Topics include the difference between stocks and bonds; what is an annuity; and how much insurance does one need.

Dr. Carl Manstein is a plastic surgeon, certified by both the American Board of Surgery and American Board of Plastic Surgery.  He completed his plastic surgery residency at Duke University.  He is on the voluntary teaching staff at Temple University, Philadelphia, PA for the department of plastic surgery.  He has travelled around the world on various missionary trips such as Operation Smile.
