Introduction: Facial rejuvenation has evolved from line-filling to structural restoration guided by anatomical precision. Over years of aesthetic practice, it became evident that many rejuvenation techniques focused primarily on the midface, often neglecting the lateral dimensions that define youthful harmony. This observation led to a deeper exploration of the Lateral Triangle of Youth—a region that plays a pivotal role in facial contour and balance.
Background: The Lateral Triangle of Youth encompasses the zygomatic, temporal, and mandibular regions, which contribute to the face’s lateral width and support. With aging, bone resorption, fat pad atrophy, and soft tissue descent in these areas cause loss of contour, volume, and lift. Restoring these structures can enhance both the aesthetic lift and overall facial proportions.
Objective: To present an anatomical and clinical approach to restoring the lateral facial contour using hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers for natural and harmonious rejuvenation.
Methods: Using high G′ HA fillers, small boluses were strategically placed in the zygomatic arch, preauricular, and mandibular regions on bone or deep subcutaneous planes. Product selection, injection depth, and safety zones were tailored to each patient’s morphology.
Results: Patients demonstrated improved lateral projection, jawline definition, and overall facial lift, achieving balanced and natural outcomes with minimal downtime.
Conclusion: Rejuvenation of the Lateral Triangle of Youth redefines facial harmony by emphasizing lateral support and contour. This anatomy-based approach with HA fillers restores youthful proportions and enhances global facial aesthetics in a subtle yet transformative manner.
